Remodelaholic Happenings
Recently we shared Why the Mixed Metals Home Decor Trend is Here to Stay. We shared some fantastic looks for every room of your house, as well as why it’s a budget friendly way to decorate! Check out more about the popularity of this look and see for yourself some of our favorite looks!
One of my personal favorite ways to mix metal in with your home decor is through coffee tables! This DIY Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table with Faux Metal Base has always had my heart! It’s a beautiful, simple design but carries a lot of character and style with it! We have the step by step tutorial so that you can create one for yourself!
I love this DIY Rotating Metal Tiered Tray Organizer that Medina from Grillo Designs shared. It has a rustic, industrial look but also adds just a small amount of metal to an area, and that look carries a big punch! It was inexpensive to make and could be used so many different places!
This gorgeous IKEA Hack: Rustic Bar with Galvanized Metal Top from Lisa at 2Perfection Decor Blog is a must-see! This ppcycled furniture transformation uses an Ikea Varde Kitchen island as the base for a new rustic bar, but I think the look would be beautiful if used as a kitchen island too! She scored a $500 IKEA base for $25, so definitely don’t be afraid to upcycle an old piece of furniture! See the before and after photos as well as the process and see if this is something you want to create for your home!
Featured Facebook Fans: Fabulous Fireplace Makeover
If you are following us on Facebook, hopefully you aren’t missing our community questions, updates, and brag posts! We love sharing the projects the you create! We are always so inspired by your creativity and style! Recently Tracy asked for ideas on how she could update her fireplace and shared the beautiful finish with us. She said,
“I scored a beautiful barn beam, sanded it some and applied tung oil to it. We used it as a mantle. Tore off our white wood mantle casing and tile and used stacked stone and a large piece of limestone as a hearth for the floor.”
You can see her original Reader Question here.
It turned out beautiful! Thank you for sharing your talent and your finished project with us! We love seeing the transformation of a wonderful before and after.
